CEREDIGION County Council has become aware that criminals have been sending texts and emails attempting to lure people to apply for the Covid-19 vaccine.
The Council’s Public Protection Trading Standards Team are warning residents to be vigilant, to always check the URL of a website and not to open attachments in suspicious emails or texts.
The NHS will never ask for payment or bank details for the Covid-19 vaccine.
Residents are encouraged to follow these steps if they are contacted:
If you have received an email, which you are not quite sure about, forward it to the Suspicious Email Reporting Service (SERS) at report@phishing.gov.uk
If you have received suspicious text messages, forward these message on to the free of charge number on 7726.
If you receive a phone call, hang up immediately and block the number.
